New features:
- Health status. The Edge DNS System Status page provides a convenient and efficient method to learn about GTM operational issues. Its purpose is to complement Service Incident Notifications available on Akamai Community.
- Alias zone option. The Alias add-on is an optional tool designed to reduce per zone total cost of ownership (TCO) for low-volume domains or zones of DNS information, such as typo domains. This option reduces TCO with a lower per zone fee.
- Service Binding record types. New HTTPS and SVCB DNS resource record types provide clients with information about connections to network services from multiple, alternative locations or endpoints. These new record types also enable alias capability at the domain apex, a long-standing challenge for the Internet.
- ACME shell support. The ACME Shell script includes support for Edge DNS in this release.
- Certbot plugin support. The Edge DNS Certbot Plugin automates the process to complete Let’s Encrypt Domain Validation by creating and removing .txt records using Edge DNS and a DNS–01 Challenge type.
- CLI bulk zone imports. The Akamai CLI DNS provides bulk import capabilities with commands that you can use to submit a set of zones and check the result and status of zones.
- Menu improvements. The Akamai Control Center menu explicitly supports Edge DNS functions.

New features:
- Fast DNS to Edge DNS name change. Renamed Fast DNS to Edge DNS to more closely align with the product’s value proposition.
- Akamai CLI uses the V2 API. The Akamai CLI Edge DNS package now uses the Zone Management V2 API.
- Performance improvements. Provides improvements to Edge DNS query and response performance, such as North American and European Union averages between 40ms and 60ms.
- Incremental Zone Transfers. Provides RFC-compliant increment transfer option for secondary zone types.
- Edit master name servers for multiple zones. Enables you to edit the name servers across multiple zones, eliminating the need to edit each zone to change common name servers.
- Zone list filtering improvement. Enables you to filter the Zone list by any attributes such as Zone Type.
- OctoDNS validation. Allows you to validate OctoDNS support for Edge DNS as a standard OctoDNS provider.
- Akamai Terraform CLI. Provides support for TSIG keys and additional record types and for TSIG keys and SOA, AKAMAICDN and AKAMAITLC records. The simplified CLI supports both Edge DNS and GTM.
- Akamai validated POSH-Acme Edge DNS Support. POSH-Acme is a Windows PowerShell module that enables you to generate publicly trusted SSL/TLS certificates from an ACME-capable certificate authority, such as Let’s Encrypt. For more information, see Posh-ACME.
- Lego Client Edge DNS Provider. Lego is an Acme client that enables CA registration, generation, and management of publicly trusted SSL/TLS certificates from ACME-capable certificate authorities, such as Let’s Encrypt. Akamai Edge DNS provider support is available in release 3.9.0. For more information, see LEGO.

This update addresses an issue preventing new or modified settings from being saved to properties that have a setting containing a dot “.” in the setting name.
2020-04-22
The following issues have been addressed in this release of the Identity Cloud Console.
Console Sign In Page: * The Region selector was missing from screens that had only social or SAML sign in options.
Manage Properties: * Custom client settings can now be deleted. * Custom settings no longer allow spaces in their name. * To view or edit a Property in Manage Properties select the new Edit option from the action menu rather than clicking on the Property.
Schema Management: * The length of an attribute sometimes displayed as 999 rather than the correct value. * A query-able attribute can now have a length of 1000. * In the Validation and Transformations section, after choosing “Globally” for the Unique setting on an attribute your choice could not be reverted.
Registration Builder: * A View Form option has been added to the list of Forms shown at the bottom of the Edit Field screen. * Trying to create or edit a translatable string field fails with a “not a valid schemaAttribute” error. * The Label setting is now available in the field editor for all field types except for Hidden, Read Only, and Translatable String. * After promoting a flow to an App in another region the copied flow was displayed but the target App was not opened in the side navigation. * The Data Validation dialog title now reflects whether you are editing an existing validation or adding a new one.
2020-04-17
Identity Cloud OpenId Connect endpoints now support the following: * Access Tokens can be issued as JSON Web Tokens (JWT) * Configuration and usage details can be found [here|[https://identitydocs.akamai.com/home/hosted-login-token-reference#jwt]]
2020-04-08
The 2020–04–08 Console update introduces new capabilities for Schema Management: * Authorized Console users can now create and manage schemas and schema attributes from within the Console UI. * The new capabilities are available to users who have the Application Admin and Application Configuration Admin roles. * For more information please see [https://identitydocs.akamai.com/home/managing-schemas]
2020-04-01
The 2020–04–01 Console update introduces significant enhancements to Registration Builder: * Authorized Console users can now fully manage the fields and forms associated with sign-in pages, registration flows, and user profile management screens from within the Console UI. * For more information please see [https://identitydocs.akamai.com/home/registration-builder]. * Note that a related Schema Management update will follow in a few days.
2020-03-23
The 2020–03–19 Console update includes the following performance enhancement: * A Region selector has been added to the Console sign-in page, enabling the user to go directly to the Region of interest. The Region can also be changed from within the Console and whatever Region was selected in the Console when the user signs out will be remembered by the web browser the next time the user signs-in from the same computer. The previous polling behavior, whereby the Console checked each Identity Cloud region to see where the user has Applications, has been removed, speeding up the Console sign-in process. As a result, Console users will now see all Identity Cloud Regions in the selection list, even though they may not have Applications in some Regions.

New features:
Force zone deletes. You have the option to force zone deletions in cases when safety checks previously prevented it. The user interface alerts you to the risks of the deletion and requires your confirmation before the zone is deleted.
Zone transfer status from Zone list. Zone list includes icons that display the status of many zone transfers in a single view. Green indicates a successful zone transfer, yellow indicates that one or more zone transfers have issues, and red indicates a zone transfer failure. You can click the icons to view additional status details for each zone.
Terraform Provider. You can use Terraform Provider to minimize the activity required to manage and configure Edge DNS zones and record sets, especially in organizations that use multiple authoritative DNS providers.
