DataStream 2 Limited Availability release
We are pleased to announce the Limited Availability (LA) release of DataStream 2. During the beta testing period, we increased the reliability and capacity of DataStream 2, improved the UI experience, and introduced new features in response to customer feedback that will allow better control over raw access log streaming.
DataStream 2 uses Akamai’s globally distributed network of servers to capture performance logs at the edge. This allows you to monitor the CDN performance and health to gather valuable insights that let you boost digital experience for your users. Please contact your Akamai representative about migration possibilities.
Other updates:
- The Splunk connector supports raw event endpoints. See the DataStream 2 User Guide for details.

New features:
Datadog support. DataStream 2 now allows you to choose Datadog as a destination to send and aggregate your Akamai logs. See the DataStream 2 User Guide for details on how to configure Datadog for your stream.
Splunk support. DataStream 2 now allows you to choose Splunk as a destination to send your Akamai logs for monitoring and analyzing data. See the DataStream 2 User Guide for details on how to configure Splunk for your stream.

Release Notes: DataStream 2
New features:
- Upload failure alerts. DataStream 2 now allows you to configure alerts and get notifications when log files fail to upload to your destinations. This feature is available to you via the Akamai Alerts application. See Setting up alerts for details.
- Dynamic time prefixing. Now you can sort log files streamed to your selected destinations by date and time. Configure folder paths and filename prefixes with dynamic time variables and combine them with static values. See Dynamic time variables for details.
- New data fields. DataStream 2 supports logging new data set fields, including SSL version, SSL overhead time, Object size, Uncompressed size, Max age, Overhead bytes, and DNS lookup time. See the Data set parameters list.
Enhancement:
DataStream 2 UI now features an improved confirmation screen, helping you configure the DataStream behavior in the Property Manager application before starting to stream logs.
