GCP Cloud Interconnects Beta
New features:
Cloud Interconnects. A new Property Manager behavior that lets you maximize egress discounts for Google Cloud origins. It’s available through the beta channel for Ion Standard, Ion Premier, and DSA.
New report (Cloud Interconnects) under Traffic reports. It lets you check value confirmation for the utilization of Cloud Interconnects. A new report isn’t yet universally available in the beta phase. Contact dl-cumulus-relations@akamai.com with the following information to set it up:
- Property Manager account/property name
- List of CP codes that have Cloud Interconnect enabled
- List of Google origin server domains (or IP addresses) that have Cloud Interconnect enabled
If the rule format for a property is set prior to 2020–11–02, update it to the latest version to access Cloud Interconnects. See Freeze a rule tree’s feature set for more information.

We are pleased to announce the following updates to Reporting:
Reporting Landing Page
Landing page for Reporting - A new Pulsar UI app that aggregates the high level reporting information about the reports that were launched.
Now you can access all of your available reports and common services (such as Billing, Alerts) from the Reporting Overview page. The reports are grouped under the following categories: Cross-Product, Web Performance, Media Delivery and Media Security. You can filter some reports by metrics and dimensions (for example, Country or Response Code).
Reporting Home Page Card
We added a Reporting card to the home page in Akamai Control Center, which offers a quick view into your Today’s Traffic metrics: edge, origin and midgress hits, and offload. The card links to the full Today’s Traffic report and to the new Reporting Overview page.

New charts and metrics in Traffic Report Two new charts in the Traffic Report showing Maximum rollup for Hits and Bytes views and corresponding metrics displayed over time.
Import/Export CP codes feature For CP code filter that displays as a list we have introduced: * Import feature - allows you to import CP code list from a CSV file.
- Export feature - allows you to export selected CP codes into a CSV file.
The CSV file format is validated and the content CP codes are cross checked with user permissions.
Reporting display updates * Reporting and Event Center color codes were updated for respective response codes (0XX - 6XX) and aligned across all reports and Event Center.
- When you zoom the chart, only the previously shown data series are zoomed and displayed.
- Saved Reports with names exceeding the Report Name column width have tooltip with full name. The tooltip also displays full text for chosen filter settings, otherwise replaced in the table header with ellipsis.
- Tooltip for KPI/Table now presents a full unit name (Bytes, Bytes/Second, Bits, Bits/Second, Milliseconds).
Scheduled Reports updates * View and Edit options are now separated in the Scheduled Reports tables. All options are displayed according to the user’s scheduled report permissions. * Filtering in the Scheduled Reports table was enabled for Emails column.

The latest update to Reporting includes the following enhancements:
Report Families Alignment
The WebHelp “Reports overview” section is aligned with Report Families visible in the Akamai Control Center. Additionally, Report Families are now sorted alphabetically in the report dropdown, with the exception of Traffic Reports, which are on the top of the list.
Sort CP Codes by Name
You can now sort CP codes by Name in the Report Filter section, with the Name as default sorting option.
Granularity updates * Additional titles to widgets names indicating AVERAGE report data rollup are available. * In Scheduled Reports, a new option to CSV deliveries is available: “Deliver at lowest available time interval”. Once the option is checked, the report will be delivered at lowest possible granularity for the given report.
Full screen display
You can display reports in the full screen mode.
2020-04-29
We are glad to announce that based on our user feedback, we are introducing a number of improvements to our reporting interface.
Download CSV
We’re making it easier to download datasets in CSV format by clicking the “Export CSV” icon, which you can find next to most widgets. This will download the data directly to your browser.
Sharing Filter Settings
We are allowing filter settings like CP codes and date ranges to be embedded in the URL.
API Guidance
We’re introducing a new “API calls” icon for most report widgets available for users with API access. This icon opens a modal that shows the exact API call you can use to fetch the report data that you’re seeing in the UI. We also provide a link to the relevant API documentation for more guidance, making it even easier to start integrating with our API’s.
KPI units of measure
We’ve been using scientific prefixes in some of our KPI’s, which has led to confusion in some cases (most notable, we’ve used ‘G’ for ‘Giga’, that is billion). We are switching to using the full units spelled out where possible (for example, “billion”), and will be using editorial abbreviations (for example “B”) where needed. Volumetric units like “Gigabyte” will continue to be abbreviated as current (that is “GB”).
2019-12-02
The latest update for Traffic Reports available as part Ion and DSA includes the following features and enhancements:
New Top Visitors report which displays hits and bytes by unique IP/user agent combinations.
Updated main Traffic report with a new “Cacheability” filter. This feature allows distinguishing between cacheable and non-cacheable content across all Traffic report metrics.
Group filter to help narrow down CP Code selection based on groups.
2019-09-30
The Offload KPI on the Traffic, Today’s Traffic and URL Traffic reports has been changed from Average Offload (which represents offload offload per time interval for the selected traffic segment(s), and calculates the average across all the individual offload numbers) to Total Offload (which is calculated based on the percentage of edge requests (bytes) that were served without the need for a corresponding origin request or byte).
2019-09-25
Customers can narrow down the CP codes by Groups options in Filter provider.
