Monitoring the CPU Usage of a Server

Use the following steps to monitor the CPU usage of a server:

How to

  1. First, you’ll need to create a Monitoring Server to define the connection method and credentials of the target server. During creation of the Monitoring Server, select System Resources as a resource type. System Resources include CPU, memory, disk and network usage. For a detailed walkthrough of how to create a Monitoring Server, see Creating Monitoring Server Groups.
  2. After the Monitoring Server has been created, create a new Monitor to specify which resources from the Monitoring Server you would like to observe, in this case, CPU. In the System Resources section of the Monitor, select CPU and provide a sample rate. For a detailed walkthrough of how to create a Monitor, see Creating Monitoring Server Groups.
  3. The monitor can be started manually (see Starting and Stopping a Monitor).
