View zone transfer status

You can view summary and detailed transfer status information for secondary zones on Control Center.

How to

  1. Go to > DNS SOLUTIONS > Edge DNS.
  2. From the Zone list page, under the Zone Transfer menu, view the following color-coded status symbols associated with each secondary zone to quick see the transfer status for these zones.
    • -- Green symbol indicates that the secondary zone transferred successfully.
    • -- Orange symbol indicates a warning that the secondary zone was transferred, but there were some problems.
    • -- Red symbol indicates that the secondary zone was not transferred because of a failure.
    • – Blue symbol indicates that the secondary zone transfer status is pending and that the zone transfer action is unknown at this time.
  3. To get more comprehensive details about the transfer status of a particular secondary zone, click the symbol for that zone under the Zone Transfer menu.

    For example, here is zone transfer status of PENDING for a zone named 1.monair.com

    The WARNING status might appear if a zone transfer agent has not performed a successful zone transfer. However, SOA queries by the zone transfer agent might succeed.

    Be sure that you configure your primary name server to allow zone transfers by all agents. See Restrict zone transfers to the zone transfer agents.

    Provided that at least one zone transfer agent has received the zone data, you can be certain that the Edge DNS has the current zone information. You can disregard older errors as they should be of no concern.

  4. Alternatively, you can view the summary and detailed zone status information for a secondary zone by selecting View zone transfer status from the zone’s Actions menu.
