Number of fields

Description

This match type allows you to match based on the number of form fields included in an incoming request.

The Input Validation Cloudlet supports this match type.

Fields

This match type lets you set the number of form fields needed in the incoming request for the rule to be valid. The default setting for this field is 5.

Operators

This match type uses these operators:

Value The Rule is True When... Example
is exactly the incoming request includes the same number of fields listed in the rule’s if clause. The rule includes 5 for the number of fields. In this case, the request is only valid if the request includes exactly five fields. If the request includes more or fewer than five fields, the match is invalid.
is greater than the incoming request includes more fields than the number listed in the rule’s if clause. The rule includes 3 for the number of fields. In this case, the request is only valid if the request includes more than three fields. If the request includes exactly three fields or fewer than three fields, the match is invalid.
is less than the incoming request includes fewer fields than the number listed in the rule’s if clause. The rule includes 4 for the number of fields. In this instance, the request is only valid if the request includes fewer than four fields. If the request includes exactly four fields, or more than four fields, the match is invalid.
