Configure RDP client display settings

EAA provides a remote desktop icon that an end user can click to view and configure display settings in the remote desktop portal (RDP):
  • Display: Adjust the display height, width, color, and time.
  • Audio: Configure audio to play on the remote desktop, local desktop, or not at all. Audio plays in the remote desktop setting also depends on the client configuration settings configured for the remote desktop application.
  • Keyboard: Select the language for the keyboard.
  • Additional RDP client settings: Enable additional client settings such as menu and window animation

How to

  1. Click the pulsing computer icon.
  2. Click Settings.
    The Remote Desktop Settings dialog appears.
  3. To modify RDP client display settings:
    1. Display settings fields: Enter the desktop height and width in pixels into the provided fields.
    2. Color depth menu: Select the resolution you want.
    3. Time Zone menu: Select the time zone you want.
    4. Disable remote cursor: Select to disable the cursor on the remote desktop.
    5. To allow keyboard shortcuts, select enable keyboard short cuts. Buttons for keyboard shortcuts such as the Ctrl, Alt, Shift, and more appear on the user interface.
    6. Click Save & Reconnect.
  4. To modify RDP client Advanced Settings:
    1. In the Advanced Settings, select one of these options for the Audio from the remote desktop menu:
      • Play on this computer
      • Do not play
      • Play on remote computer
    2. In the Quality menu, select the quality you want for the audio settings.
    3. In the Keyboard menu, select a language for the keyboard.
    4. For the list of RDP client settings, enable any of the preferred settings.
    5. Click Save & Reconnect.
  5. To reset the RDP client display to its default settings:
    1. Click the Reset to defaults link.
    2. Refresh your browser.
