Configure networks with the connector VM console menu

Use the connector VM console menu to perform network configuration tasks.

Note: These tasks apply to connectors installed in VMware or VirtualBox environments.
To perform networking configuration tasks in VMware or VirtualBox environments with the connector console:
  1. Open the console of the connector. If the screen is blank, press any key to bring it back.

  2. Follow the instructions to press ALT+F3 (for Mac users: FN+ALT+F3). The connector console options menu appears.

  3. Select an option from the menu and enter the required information at the prompts shown in this table.

The connector uses www.google.com and mgmt.stage.bubblewrapp.net to ensure connectivity.

Start the SSH server Select 6) Start SSH Server to start the SSH server.

You should see a message stating that SSH has started and a process number.

Stop the SSH server Select 7) Stop SSH Server to stop the SSH server.

You should see a message stating that SSH has stopped and that no process was found.

Configure a forward proxy server Select 8) Configure HTTP/HTTPS Proxy Information. Configure a forward proxy server for a connector
Unset a forward proxy server Select 9) Unset HTTP/HTTPS Proxy Information. Select y to continue unsetting the forward proxy. The forward proxy is unset and the service is restarted with a new IP configuration.

Now that the configuration has been changed, it will ping www.google.com and mgmt.bubblewrapp.net to ensure connectivity.

Enable a forward proxy Select 12) Set Forward Proxy Enabled. At the Configuring Set Forward Proxy. Proceed? prompt, enter y.

The connector now establishes a connection to the applications behind the forward proxy.

Disable a forward proxy Select 13) Set Forward Proxy Disabled.

At the Configuring Unset Forward Proxy. Proceed? prompt, enter y.

The connector now disables a connection to the applications behind the forward proxy.

Configure an NTP server Select 14) Specify NTP Server.

At the Configuring NTP Server. Proceed? prompt, enter y.

At the Specify NTP server name prompt, enter the server name.
Reset the NTP configuration to the default server Select 15) Reset NTP Config To Default. At the Configuring NTP Server To Default. Proceed? prompt, enter y.
Leave the console menu Select 16) Exit to leave the menu.
