Security Connector Status Definition
Offline - Mgmt interface does not have an IP address The management interface is not configured with an IP address. Verify a DHCP or static IP address is assigned. If necessary, modify these settings. See Configure the management interface.

If this error continues, consider restarting the VM and check that the ports of the hypervisor are mapped to the correct virtual switch.

Offline - Data interface does not have an IP address The data interface is not configured with an IP address. Verify a DHCP or static IP address is assigned. If necessary, modify these settings. See Configure the data interface.

If this error continues, consider restarting the VM and check that the ports of the hypervisor are mapped to the correct virtual switch.

Offline - Unable to resolve hostname to Akamai services The hostname you entered as a DNS name server could not be resolved. Verify the name server settings. If necessary, modify these settings. See Configure DNS name servers.

You can confirm that the Security Connector management interface is reachable with ping. For more information, see Run a Ping test.

Offline - Unable to connect to Akamai services While the management interface is available and the DNS server has been resolved, the security connector is unable to connect to your network. Verify that your organization's firewall is configured to allow traffic on TCP port 443 and UDP port 123.

You can also confirm that Security Connector is not behind an on-premises web proxy that’s chained to ETP Proxy. If the Security Connector is deployed behind the firewall, add the domains of Akamai services to an exception list. To view the domain of each service, see View debug information.

Online - Please activate VM While the security connector can connect to Akamai services, you must activate it with an activation code. You generate the code in ETP and enter it into the Security Connector user interface. For instructions, see Generate an activation code and Activate the security connector.
Online The security connector is available and fully activated.
Online - Authenticating to Akamai services This is a temporary state that appears while the security connector is authenticating to Akamai services.
Please wait - Applying network configuration This is a temporary state that appears while network configuration changes are applied to the security connector.
If an offline status appears, you can view more information about specific failures. To view additional status information, in the main menu of Security Connector, select View Health Status and press Enter. The Health Status page reports where a specific failure occurred. For more information, see Health status check.

The overall status of the Security Connector also appears in ETP when you view security connectors on the Security Connector page.
