Content Targeting

When users visit your website, Akamai edge servers send the header X-Akamai-Edgescape to your origin server with specifics about their geographic location, network, connection speed, and so on. You can use this content targeting information to customize the content you send or for data collection.

Here's an example:

X-Akamai-Edgescape: georegion=263,country_code=US,region_code=MA,
city=CAMBRIDGE,dma=50 6,pmsa=1120,areacode=617,county=MIDDLESEX,
fips=25017,lat=42.3933,l ong=-71.1333,timezone=EST,
zip=02138-02142+02238-02239,continent=NA ,throughput=vhigh,asnum=21399
Important: Enabling Content Targeting increases the size of the HTTP request headers sent to your origin server.

Next, manage your site availability with a site failover page or manage your server offload and caching settings.
