Tell us which domain to serve through our network

Let’s talk a bit about a domains. The domain or hostname (say, www.example.com) is part of the URL that specifies your web server. This is the domain that serves your content (commonly referred to as traffic) through the Akamai network.

Akamai doesn’t support apex domains like example.com in OCA. If you want to serve an apex domain like this, you should talk with your account rep.

Important: Avoid using protocols such as http and https in your domain name. If you do, we’ll remind you.

What if you want to serve multiple domains? Can you use alias domains?

If your domains serve the exact same content from the same origin, you can enter them in as alias domains on your property. Otherwise, you should create separate properties for each domain.

What's next? How about your domain. What’s it used for?
