Encoder guidelines for HTTP ingest
Configure your encoder to stream media over the HTTP protocol.
You can ingest your content using the HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP) or Real Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP). HTTP is simple to use and cost-effective. However, it lacks intellectual property (IP) protection. RTMP is a special protocol for real-time server applications ranging from instant messaging to collaborative data sharing to video streaming.
The HTTP ingest formats are HLS, HDS, DASH, and CMAF. Click the associated link to learn more about the requirements and recommendations for each format.
