Encoder guidelines for the RTMP platform

This topic explains the required and recommended specifications for live stream encoders that are compatible with Media Services Live for the RTMP Platform.

Real-Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP) is a protocol for streaming audio, video and data over the Internet, between a Flash player and a server.

Compatible encoders should be capable of successfully streaming a live event, but meeting these guidelines does not guarantee performance of any encoder in Media Services Live.
