DVR Window (dw | n)

dw n
This query string allows you to dynamically configure the playback DVR window by designating the number of seconds (whole seconds without decimals) in the window. For example:
uri/master.m3u8?dw=100
This query string allows you to dynamically configure the playback DVR window by designating the number of segments to include in the Child Playlist. For example:
uri/master.m3u8?n=10

This value is multiplied by segment duration to get the number of seconds for the DVR window.

Note:

The smaller of two values (the value designated in the query string or the DVR window configured for that stream ID) is selected in Control Center. A minimum of five segments are always included in the Child Playlist, even in cases when the stream is provisioned with no DVR.

The DVR Window query string setting to dw can only be used during live playback (to control the length of a live playback).

For example, the following results in 30 seconds of playback available which equals 3 segments of default 10 seconds in the child playlist:
uri/master.f4m?dw=30

However, this setting only should only be used while the stream is still live. After the stream is archived and over, the dw query parameter will limit playback to the duration of the dw parameter plus a small buffer.
