Stream Packaging (RTMP Ingest/ HDS & HLS outputs) URLs reports

The following URLs reports are available for HDS (Adobe HTTP Dynamic Streaming) and HLS (Apple HTTP Live Streaming):

  • Top 10 URLs, By Volume. This report section displays the following fields for the top ten URLs:
    • URL.The path of the URL requested.
    • OK Volume. The OK or successful volume transferred between the Edge to the end user. This number includes all successful response status codes and overhead bytes.
    • OK Hits. The total number of requests for this URL. It contains only successful response codes (2xx, 3xx, and 0xx).

  • Top 10 URLs, By Hits. This report section displays the following fields for the top ten URLs:
    • URL. The pathname of the URL requested.
    • OK Hits. The total number of requests for this URL. It includes only successful response codes (2xx, 3xx, and 0xx).
    • OK Volume. The OK or successful volume transferred between the Edge to the end user. This number includes all successful response status codes, and overhead bytes.

  • Top 10 URLs, By Errors. This report section displays the following fields for the top ten URLs:
    • URL. The pathname of the URL requested.
    • Error Hits. The number of requests for the URL that resulted in an error response code.
    • OK Hits. The total number of successful requests for the URL. It includes only successful response codes (0xx, 2xx, 3xx, and 408).
    • Volume. The total number of megabytes transferred from the Edge to the end user. This number includes all response codes and stream overhead bytes.

      Note: The value in the URL field is represented differently for HDS and HLS, as shown in examples below:

    HDS

  • Example 1: player.customerhost-lh.akamaihd.net/z/sample_1@1234/1200 - represents traffic delivered against a specific bitrate of an event. In this sample the bit rate is 1200kbps.
  • Example 2: player.customerhost-lh.akamaihd.net/z/sample_1@1234 - represents traffic delivered against the initial manifest requests for the event.

    HLS

  • Example: player.customerhost-lh.akamaihd.net/i/sample_1@1234/ - represents all traffic delivered against that event and is not by variant or index playlist.
