Purge content by ARL

Before you purge content by ARL, review the Requirements for purging content.

Note: Use Purge by ARL (Akamai Resource Locator) only when other methods of purging are ineffective.Your Akamai representative can help you determine if purging by ARL is appropriate. Purge by ARL might take about five minutes to complete.
The following are HD Flash 1.0, HLS, HDS, and HD Silverlight content purge requirements:
  • Enter one ARL per item.
  • Ensure that the ARL is full (not partial).
  • Wildcards are not supported.

To purge HD Flash 1.0, HLS, HDS, and HD Silverlight content:

  1. Select HD Flash 1.0, HLS, HDS, or HD Silverlight as the Content Type.
  2. Enter the ARLs (cache-keys) you want to purge. When specifying multiple ARLs, enter one per line.
  3. Optionally, enter the Request Name.
  4. Enter the filenames.
  5. Click Start Refreshing Content.

A message including a Support ID appears at the top of the page, letting you know your request was accepted and will be completed in about five minutes.

Purge RTMP content

The following are RTMP content purge requirements:
  • Enter one ARL per item.
  • Ensure that the ARL is full (not partial).
  • Wildcards are not supported.
  1. Select RTMP as the Content Type.
  2. Select a method Invalidate or Delete.
  3. Enter the Purge URL/ARL(s) in the field.

    Or, move the slider to select URL/ARL(s) specified in file. Click Choose File to locate and upload the file containing the ARLs you want to purge

  4. Click Start Refreshing Content.
