Purge content by URL

Before you purge content by URL, review the Requirements for purging content.

Purge HD Flash 1.0, HLS, HDS, and HD Silverlight content by URL

Use these steps to purge content for HD Flash 1.0, HLS, HDS, and HD Silverlight formats:

  1. Select HD Flash 1.0, HLS, HDS, or HD Silverlight as the Content Type.
  2. In the entry field, type the URLs or click Choose File to locate and upload the file containing the URLs you want to purge. When specifying multiple URLs, enter one URL per line.

    After the file is uploaded, the URLs appear in the entry field. Edit the URLs as required.

    Only absolute URLs are supported.

    The following examples show the purge URLs for the HLS format:

    http://iphone-i.akamaihd.net/i/examplehost/test.smil/master.m3u8

    http://iphonei. akamaihd.net/i/examplehost/test.avi_,400x224_200,400x224_600, or 640x360_1200,kbps.mp4.csmil/master.m3u8

  3. Enter the HLS, HDS, or HD Silverlight filenames. This field does not appear for HD Flash 1.0.
  4. Click Start Refreshing Content.

A message appears at the top of the page, letting you know your request was accepted and will be completed within a few seconds. A support ID is also included.

Purge RTMP content by URL

Use these steps to purge RTMP content by URL:

  1. Select RTMP as the Content Type.
  2. Select URLs/ARLs as the Content to Refresh.
  3. Select the Purge Method Delete or Invalidate. See Purge methods.
  4. In the entry field, type the URLs or click Choose File to locate and upload the file containing the URLs you want to purge. When specifying multiple URLs, enter one per line.

    The following example shows the purge URL for the RTMP format: rtmp://cp325140.edgefcs.net/ondemand/clips1/summit.mp4

  5. Click Start Refreshing Content.

    A message appears at the top of the page, letting you know your request was accepted and will be completed within a few seconds. A support ID is also included.
