Moving a file

To move a file, set the “<SOURCE>” variable to the complete path and filename of the file to be moved, and set the “<DIRECTORY>” variable to the path to which the file is to be moved. Multiple “ <SOURCE>” file entries can be included to move multiple files (separating each with a whitespace), with the final path in the syntax existing as the “<DIRECTORY>” to which the files will be moved.

mv <OPTION>... <SOURCE>... <DIRECTORY>

Example

In this example, two files are moved (and their existing filenames are preserved):

mv -v /123456/test/movie.mp4 /123456/test/movie1.mp4 /123456/new/
